9X Nathan’s Champ!

Back from another successful title defense for Miki with 39.5 HDB! However, this one came with down to the wire feel after a very hard-fought battle from Japanese invitee Mayoi Ebihara. While the official count wasn’t quite as close as the counters/broadcast led us to believe, Mayoi still put up an excellent fight and a very impressive first time out with 34 hot dogs and buns. She will surely be force to be reckoned with in the years to come. Quick huge thank you to her for showing such effort and respect in regard to the contest and we hope to see much more of her competing in the future.

After Miki’s successful defense the rains came…….literally and figuratively. A 2+ hour rain delay before the men’s competition and questions of a possible cancellation. However, eventually we got the contest going and I set a stage personal best with 45 HDB. With that said it was well short of my practice numbers and only good enough for 4th place on the men’s stage. Apologies to anyone expecting more but you can guarantee that i’m already back to work to continue to improve into next year and bring both belts back to the same house!

Overall another amazing trip to NYC with the family and we cant wait to return and see everyone again! Thank you to everyone that came to the meet and greet at Handcraft Burgers and Brew and we hope to see more of you in the future!
